Peter Hitchens Author Interview–The Rage Against God from Gorilla Poet Productions on Vimeo.
The overarching idea in Embodying Our Faith is that our best
apologetic in the 21st century is the one that is embodied – which we
flesh out as one that is experiential, communal, and enacted.
I
came across this video from Peter Hitchens, a highly regarded journalist
in the UK, and the brother of well-known atheist Christopher Hitchens.
He has an autobiographical book coming out called The Rage Against
God: How Atheism Led Me to Faith which looks fascinating.
Check
out the video, and note this line in particular: “I think that most
educated atheists are much more likely to be suddenly ambushed in the
heart by poetry than they ever are likely to be converted by reasoned
argument.”
Very reminiscent of C. S. Lewis on the value of
beauty, and echoes here of the important apologetic role that experience
plays in finding faith.
